SECTION XX - COB


All times are approximate and Classes may commence up to 30 minutes earlier than stated.



Judges: Mrs V Renwick, Hetland Hill Farm, Carrutherstown.

Judging follows Coloured Horse Classes.



At 11.15 am

21 - Cob Youngstock (In Hand), Colt, filly or gelding. 1,2 and 3 year olds. To make a lightweight, Heavyweight or Maxi Cob at maturity.


Approx. 11:45 am

22 - Lightweight Cob (Ridden),, Mare or gelding. Four years old and over, capable of carrying up to 14 stone, exceeding 148cms (14.2hh) but not exceeding 155cms (15.2hh).


Approx. 12:15 pm

23 - Heavyweight  & Maxi Cob (Ridden),, Mare or gelding. Four years old and over, capable of carrying up to 14 stone, exceeding 155cms.

Judging to commence at approx 1.30 pm .

Prizes: Rosettes and Tesco vouchers 1st to 4th Place. Veteran prize,£25 voucher to be redeemed from RoR office and qualification for Veteran final at Aintree.

1st £50 plus voucher for jacket, 2nd £25, 3rd £20, 4th £10.

The RoR Tattershalls Scottish Show Series Qualifier 2017

The RoR Tattershalls Scottish Show Series Qualifier


Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4years old or over, any height. Riders must be 15 years or over. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle. Horses should be plaited. The first three go forward to the championship at the Royal Highland Show 2018. Qualification will go down to 6th place if the first 3 have already qualified. All entries MUST be registered with the ROR and have RACED in GB.

There will be a prize for the highest placed veteran 15 years or over. The class will be run under the rules of RoR. To which competitors agree to be bound. Horses to be ridden by the judge. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force.

Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap.

Racing injuries and blemishes will NOT be ignored in the series.
